Wine Braised Short Ribs

Such a flavorful recipe and very easy to make. With it being really cold outside this one is sure to keep you warm.

Length of time from start to finish: 3 Hours 
Difficulty: Easy 
Ingredients: 
  • 3 lbs short ribs 
  • 3 Celery ribs
  • 3 carrots 
  • 1 large sweet onion
  • 1 sprig of thyme 
  • 1 head of garlic 
  • 1/2 cup red wine 
  • 32oz beef broth

 Instructions:
-Preheat your Dutch oven on high heat.

-Now, let’s prep the veggies. Cut the veggies to a good size as you don’t want them to turn to mush once done. Cut them into 3/4 to 1 inch thick. You want to crush the garlic.

-Season the short ribs with salt and pepper and sear them first on high heat. Get a nice crust all around them.

-Once you do, remove them and add the onions and the crushed garlic.

-Once the garlic is fragrant, add the celery and the carrots. Now proceed to add the beef broth, wine and finally the thyme sprig.

-Turn your heat to medium and let simmer for 2 hours. After 2 hours, see how tender the ribs are, if not tender enough leave on heat for another 30 min. 

Serve along mashed potatoes or white rice.
