Pan Seared Filet Sandwich

Pan-Seared Filet Sandwich With Cheesy Onions and JalapeƱos

This is a very filling recipe! It’s one you have to try if you like steak sandwiches. The filet is just so tender and makes for a good bite.

Length of time from start to finish: 45 min
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients:
  • 1 8oz filet
  • 1 large jalapeƱo
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1/4 cup cheese
  • 1 brioche hamburger bun
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 1 tbsp mayo

Instructions:

-Preheat your skillet on medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp cooking oil.

-Season the filet with just salt. You can always add more seasoning. Sear the filet for about 4 min per side and remove it once it hits an internal temperature of 110. The carry-over heat will give you a perfect medium-rare.

-Once you flip it once, add butter, garlic and a sprig of thyme. Baste the steak with all that flavor until 110 internal temperature.

-While the steak is cooking, cut your onion thinly and also the jalapeƱo. Throw it in the pan once you remove the steak, and sautƩ until tender. Add the cheese to the jalapeƱos and onions and leave until the cheese is nicely melted.

-Toast the bun once the veggies are nice and sautĆ©ed. Now slice the steak and itā€™s time to assemble, add mayo to the buns, pile on the steak and top with the sautĆ©ed onions and jalapeƱos.

I highly recommended a meat thermometer. You can use any other cut of steak, a ribeye or a New York steak. Those go really well. Serve along with fries.
