Cheesy Ribeye Steak Sandwich

This recipe is one for either lunch or dinner! This ribeye steak sandwich is really full of flavor and very easy to make. You just need about 5 ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb ribeye steak
  • 1 small sweet onion
  • 2 Rosemary sprigs
  • 1/2 stick of unsalted butter
  • 2 hamburger brioche buns
  • 2 slices of pepper Jack cheese
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

-Slice your sweet onions first, then set them aside in a bowl. Pat your steak dry with a paper towel to get a maximum crust, I recommend your steak come up to room temp before cooking.

-Leave it out for 30 min on the counter on a plate.

-Preheat your pan to high heat, then season your steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Sear your steak for 2 min then flip, after add crush garlic and Rosemary, after 1 min add your half stick of butter, cut your heat to medium, baste your steak with the butter and remove to your desired donees, do flip the steak more if need be.

-I removed mine at 125  internal temperature and the resting carried it to 135 for a perfect medium-rare.

-Rest your steak for 5 min. While this is happening in the pan throw in 1 tbsp cooking oil and your sliced onions, season with salt and black pepper. Add 2 slices of pepper Jack cheese to the onions, once they look nice and soft. In the same pan toast your buns to your liking.

-Time to slice your steak, then build your sandwich, I added mayo, the steak and topped with the cheesy onions.
