Difficulty: Easy
Total Time 35 minutes mins
Course Main Course
Cuisine American
Servings 3
Ingredients
- 8 slices of white bread (Italian or sourdough)
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 8 slices honey ham
- 8 slices prosciutto
- 8 tbsp butter
- 1.5 tbsp mayo
- 1.5 tbsp Dijon mustard
Dredge
- 3 Eggs
- Salt and pepper
Garnish
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Start off by cracking your eggs in a bowl, whisk them until smooth, but not foamy. Next, season them with salt and pepper, set them aside for now.
- Now let’s assemble the sandwiches! On one side of the bread add mayo, on the other piece of bread add Dijon mustard. Spread those really well.
- Now, on the mayo side add, 2 Swiss cheese, 2 slices honey ham, 2 slices prosciutto, 2 slices cheddar cheese and finally place the top of slice of bread.
- In a shallow baking sheet add your whisked eggs, this will make it a lot easier for you to dip the bread in. Now dip all of your sandwiches one at a time. Once they are nicely covered in egg, preheat your griddle to 350.
- Add 4 tbsp of butter. Once melted, add the sandwiches to the griddle, flip after one minute. Add more butter as needed.
- Flip and check to make sure the egg isn’t getting too dark, once it’s a nice golden color, turn the heat to low and let the cheese melt the rest of the way.
- Once the cheese is fully melted, remove the sandwiches from the griddle and sprinkle on powdered sugar. Let rest for 3 min before serving.
Notes
You can use any cheese of your choice as well as any deli meat. You can also serve them with syrup or jam.
