Bacon Avocado Smash Burgers

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 85/15 ground beef
  • 1 large avocado, sliced
  • 1 large tomato
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • Mayo for spreading

Instructions
 

  • Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape into balls. 
  • Place the burger balls onto the preheated skillet or griddle and smash them with a burger press or two spatulas. Season and flip when the Patties look watery on top. 
  • While the patties are cooking, heat a separate skillet/ other side of the griddle to medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy.
  • Toast the hamburger buns in the same skillet or griddle as the patties.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of mayo on each side of the buns.
  • Place a cooked patty on each bottom bun, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese, a few slices of tomato and lettuce, and a few slices of avocado.
  • Top each burger with 2 slices of bacon and the top bun.
  • Serve the burgers immediately and enjoy!
